CO2 Laser Resurfacing - Vascular Laser Treatments - Laser Hair Removal - Microlaser Peel - Photo Rejuvenation
Carbon Dioxide Laser resurfacing is performed on an outpatient basis using local or general anesthesia to place the patient at ease. It is used to improve skin wrinkles and scars. Skin resurfacing requires between 30 to 90 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Most patients require 10-14 days for healing of the outer surface of the skin. During this time, the skin will require care in the form of frequent washing with a mild soap, and application of a topical facial ointment or cream after each washing. Redness following the procedure can last from 6 weeks to 6 months. This redness looks like a sunburn and can be camouflaged using make-up. It is important to avoid excessive sun exposure for six months after treatment and to use sunscreen. Make-up may be used when all areas of the face have healed. This is usually 10-14 days following laser peel.
Any procedure of this nature has a potential risk of causing scarring. Scarring can result from poor wound healing abilities by the patient, or from infection of the skin following the procedure. Infection results from bacteria, viruses, or yeast; all of which exist on our skin. The virus which causes fever blisters (cold sores) is of most concern. Patients are placed on medication before surgery to reduce the risk of this type of infection.
Pigmentation changes can occur from laser resurfacing. Brown pigmentation of the skin, as well as light-colored areas, may be seen. This occurs most frequently in darker pigmented individuals. Most of the time, these skin tones will even out with the use of bleaching creams and sunscreens.
Laser resurfacing is very effective in removing facial wrinkles and improving some scars involving the skin. A consultation will provide you with a realistic appraisal as to what degree of improvement you can expect.

Laser Hair Removal
We offer complete full body (including bikini line) hair removal. Our new profile laser uses an infrared light beam that can selectively target microstructures such as hair follicles. It is very effective for lighter skin types and, because of the relatively low absorption of this light by melanin; it is the best choice when treating darker skin types. Additionally, the ability to safely treat sun-tanned skin makes this the treatment of choice for active individuals.
Tanned and pigmented skin can be treated safely, but always inform your physician if you have been tanning, using tanning products, or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks.
The area of your skin to be treated will be scanned with laser light from the Profile system. Treatment time will depend upon the area treated. A system for cooling your skin is used to ensure a comfortable treatment. However, since the sensation varies from individual to individual, a topical anesthesia can be provided. Let your physician know if you are very sensitive.
The Profile laser selectively targets your hair follicles and heats them with infrared energy. Unlike other processes the laser beam treats many hairs at once making treatment of large areas practical. The Profile employs a unique computer-guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer sets the parameters and places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin to ensure a safe, fast, effective and gentle treatment.
