Forehead Lift
The forehead is a good barometer of age. Through the years, the upper face may show relaxed skin at the temples and eyebrows. Furrows may appear horizontally and vertically as the brow descends. These conditions can be dramatically improved with a forehead lift. A forehead lift is frequently combined with a facelift to provide a balanced rejuvenation of the face.
In an open forehead lift, incisions are made along the hairline or behind it. In an endoscopic forehead lift, the length of the incisions is markedly reduced. A small tube with an attached camera and light source is used to visualize the separation and tightening of the skin. Small muscles of expression that cause deep furrowing may be cut or weakened, thus reducing the severity of the furrows.
For the first week after outpatient surgery, you may engage in relaxed activities, and then begin to resume normal activities the second week. Final healing may take several weeks.
